A Green Existence

Image (Draycott Fields Farm — converted agricultural barn at dusk)

The thesis explores designing from scratch as an opportunity to develop carbon-neutral strategies through design, construction, occupation and eventual decay. It proposes affordable housing for young families, students and older residents, using self-build methods influenced by Walter Segal and materials selected for availability, self-build potential and carbon performance. Existing vegetation and connected garden spaces form part of a wider bio-circular approach.
